chaffey adult school Chaffey high school district restructures staff,ONTARIO - The Chaffey Joint Union High School District will save an estimated $1 million by restructuring its administrative staff amid economic challenges.The plan, which collapsed nine positions into five, was approved unanimously by the districts Board of Trustees.Total administrative salaries at the district will be reduced by $345,146 in the current school year, and by the same amount each of the following two school years.In an email to district staff members, Superintendent Mat Holton said the savings equates to a 4.4 percent reduction in total administrative salaries each year.Combining the positions was made in light of anticipated ongoing economic challenges, Holton said in the email.The move targets some positions that are vacant or are anticipated by administrators to become vacant at the end of the school year.This will not result in forced layoffs or retirements, Holton said.District Trustee Art Bustamonte called the move a significant change as r as how we do business, and said it will result in cost savings.Everything we do at this point in time at the district is to be conservative, save money, while maintaining the (quality) of instruction for students, if not it higher, Bustamonte said.The nine positions eliminated in the restructuring:Transportation directorRisk managerCo-principal at Valley View High School
